Butt (Buttocks) Lift

Butt lift abroad

A butt lift, also known as a buttocks or Brazilian butt lift, is a procedure that lifts up the skin surrounding your buttocks to improve the form and surface of your butt. The technique results in a more toned, smoother, and less dimpled appearance. A butt lift, unlike other cosmetic butt operations, does not increase the size of your butt. A butt lift can generally be carried out on those who are in good health and do not smoke, don’t suffer from obesity and reached a stable weight, don’t have any chronic illnesses that could impede healing, such as diabetes or lupus.

It will improve the life quality in particular for people who have recently lost a significant amount of weight or had weight loss surgery and for those who have excess fat, sagging, or loose skin on their buttocks.

The term “Brazilian Butt Lift” is thought to have been coined because of Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, believed to be the Brazil’s most prominent plastic surgeon. He began publishing information about this lift in the 1960’s.

You should be particularly careful when choosing the clinic where to perform the buttock lift. The buttocks contain a multitude of blood vessels, some as large as drinking straws. These drain into the inferior vena cava, which is a direct line to the heart. When properly done and when carefully done, it is completely safe, but you should avoid the low cost, high-volume centers with doctors who may not be board-certified or even surgeons.

Types of Butt Lift Surgery

There are several different types of buttocks lift surgery, each designed to address specific concerns and achieve different outcomes. Some of the most common types of buttocks lift surgery include:

  • Brazilian Butt Lift: This procedure involves using liposuction to remove fat from other areas of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, and then transferring that fat to the buttocks to create a more rounded and lifted appearance.
  • Traditional Butt Lift: This procedure involves removing excess skin and fat from the buttocks and then repositioning the remaining tissue to create a more lifted and toned appearance.
  • Upper Butt Lift: This procedure targets the upper portion of the buttocks, lifting and reshaping the tissue to create a more defined and youthful appearance.
  • Lower Butt Lift: This procedure targets the lower portion of the buttocks, lifting and reshaping the tissue to create a more rounded and lifted appearance.
  • Butterfly Butt Lift: This procedure involves creating a small incision in the buttocks and then using sutures to lift and reshape the tissue, creating a more lifted and toned appearance.

The type of buttocks lift surgery that is best for you will depend on your individual needs, goals, and anatomy. It is important to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon to determine the best course of treatment for your specific situation.

Preparation for Butt Lift Surgery

Your plastic surgeon will give you instructions on how to prepare for your butt lift procedure, including:

Not smoking. Smokers are more likely to experience difficulties from any procedure. To reduce the likelihood of these issues and to improve your overall health and well-being, attempt to quit smoking before undergoing surgery.

Stopping medication that increases bleeding, such as aspirin and herbal supplements.

Butt Lift Surgery Procedure

You will most likely be given general anesthetic prior to surgery. You will be unconscious throughout the process and will not feel any pain. Furthermore, you will also most likely be given an antibiotic to lessen the possibility of infection.

The whole buttlifting process can take several hours. Your plastic surgeon removes superfluous skin and may use liposuction to contour your buttocks or thighs. The position of your incisions is determined by the technique used by your plastic surgeon. Your surgeon may create an incision along your lower back, in your hips, or under your butt cheeks to remove excess skin.

Your surgeon seals the wounds with stitches, tape, or another material, covers the incisions with bandages, and puts tubes under your skin (surgical drains) to drain excess blood and fluid. After surgery, you’ll be sent to a recovery area until you wake up from the anesthetic or for a short period of time to ensure there are no issues. It is possible that you will need to spend the night in aftercare.

You’ll be given information on how to care for your surgery incisions and drains. You are frequently, although not always, asked not to apply pressure to the surgical site. Discuss your postsurgical arrangements with your surgeon and family or friends before your procedure. Wearing a compression garment to minimize swelling and encourage skin tightness and healing may also be necessary. Take medication that lowers the risk of blood clots.

Benefits of Butt Lift Surgery

After you receive your final results a few weeks later, you can expect them to last for decades. They may even last a lifetime with proper care. Your lifestyle choices will have a significant impact on how long your results last. Once the fat cells have settled, they will not disappear unless you remove them or lose a lot of weight.

If you go on a diet and lose weight, it’s impossible to predict with 100% certainty where your body will remove the fat, and it could come from your buttocks. Because our bodies store and remove fat based on our unique genetics, losing weight may undo the effects of your BBL. To keep your results as long as possible, avoid losing or gaining excessive weight.
