Palace Merano is a fabulous resort located in the pearl of South Tyrol, in a place with endless sun, elegant and full of life. The history of Hotel Palace Merano began in the early twentieth century, when entrepreneur Peter Delugan purchased the site where Castle Maur had existed since 1676. The property includes a nursery, a greenhouse, a vineyard, and a botanic garden, as well as a large park. It was a popular stopping point for nineteenth-century European nobles on continental excursions at the time. It seemed natural to establish a luxurious hotel to meet their needs. The construction was completed in about eighteen months, and Hotel Palace Merano opened its doors in 1906.
